Welcome to the course:
FOU1826 Introduction
Autumn term 2019 : 2019-09-25 – 2020-01-15
First of all, we will ask you to give a short presentation of yourself and your research interests in Module 1: Presentations of course participants as a first step to getting to know each other.
The course provides an orientation of the terms of the doctoral program and the postgraduate
students at the Faculty of Education. A starting point for the course is the doctoral students'
own thesis work, which is why space is given to discuss the own planned work. This includes
becoming familiar with the seminar policies for reviewing doctoral and licentiate theses at the
faculty (such seminars being hosted throughout doctoral students’ studies) and the Rules and
regulations for third-cycle studies at the University of Gothenburg. This is done through
participation in planning- and final seminars, in thesis defense, and by reading and critically
examining doctoral or licentiate thesis. Furthermore, scientific quality, publishing, research
ethics and archiving research documents are discussed.
Schedules, assignments and examinations are found in Modules.
