Length: 5 ECTS
Prerequisites:For admission to the course, completed and approved courses worth 90 credits in the field of science (or 120 credits in pharmaceutics/medicine) are required. Completed course KEM040, Physical Chemistry (15 credits), or FYP203, Quantum Physics A (7.5 credits) or equivalent knowledge, as well as knowledge equivalent to at least course MMGK11, Mathematics for natural scientists A1 (15 credits) are recommended.
Time: Period 2, fall term 2020
Aim: The emphasis is put on basic concepts in Molecular Modeling, primarily focusing on biomolecules and use of computers in drug design. The course is intended to give an overview of the area, and will cover a wide spectrum of approaches. The course combines lectures, demonstrations, computer laborations (compulsory) and a shorter project assignment.
Literature: Lecture notes, made available during the course.
Exam: There is no formal written exam. Examination is through the concluded Laborations, and handing in a project report + give an oral presentation thereof.
